Yesterday I spotted a flash of red deep inside the leaves of the un-pruned tomato plant and there it was--my first ripe beauty.
Now this may look like a small-potatoes harvest to you but I'm really quite proud.
And speaking of potatoes mine are also ready for harvesting as soon as I find the energy.
It's still hot and humid.
I've been munching the peas right off the vine but it might be fun to actually cook some for a change.
The spinach didn't make it at all and the rabbits left me one head of lettuce but that's okay--mine is an equal opportunity garden.
On the positive side, there have been gentle spatters of rain the past couple of days.
I love summer.
