Swamp Walking

I hiked through an extrememly well bred swamp recently. Anyway, according to the sign I was swamp-walking.

I loved the tree shapes.

Around where I live this is what we call a swamp-- boggy, get-your-feet-wet; now that's a swamp.

I love tree shapes too! The different textures of the bark and the patterns that the branches make.

Reminds me of home! We had those gnarled, personality-filled trees and small patches of standing water in the woods behind my parents' house. Vernal pools, I think they were called... because they fill up in the spring just in time for tadpoles and such to breed there, then go away for the summer.

Looks like you had a lovely walk. :)
