The Old And The Old

There is nothing more beautiful than the pond lotus; perfect in every sense. They're probably as old as Buddha and as enduring.
Here, Buddha is admiring the view.

Also old in time and enduring are many old order Mennonite families in the surrounding area; in fact, many stores provide mini stables for tethering the horses while the owners shop.
This owner chose a close-by convenience --shade and a sturdy hitching post.

The story goes that Mennonites buy retired race horses to pull their buggies and their steeds have a spirited look about them.

Not to be confusing, but my son is a new order Mennonite and I don't believe he is sure which end of the horse is which; lucky for him the new order group drive cars and doesn`t own any black clothing, unless it`s a tux or a basic black dress.
If I continue it will be confusing.

I`ll stop now.

Yin Yang, Episode Two

Yesterday I left you with Buddha contemplating cat, who was contemplating a fish meal.

This morning, cat has disappeared from the rock.

I suppose a helpful raccoon knocked cat off his rock.

Does that look like a smirk on Buddha's face?

Just asking.

OOPS

This is a sad commentary on my cleaning-up habits in the fall.
You put the garden away tidy, right?
Well, I did when I was thirty.
Now, not so much. Okay, now not at all.

Poor Buddha took a hit from a passing bird. I'm not sure whether it's respectful to place a sunhat on his head so I guess I'll go along with the thought that Buddha is gentle and forgiving.

Anyway, it's so mooshy out there that I can't do any serious tidying up of plant or deity, so I'll wait.

Frozen In Time

Last week Buddha was a tad more comfortable than the winter he endures today

And Max,comfortably viewing life on top of his kitchen garbage can, pondering the sanity of people pushing through snowdrifts to take pictures.

After The Rain

I took this shot of the glass-topped table during the rain. Do you see the doll head effect?

Buddha is keeping a tight watch over the fish and so far he has kept all marauders away.

The six-foot hollyhocks are bursting out now.

Everything is tightly packed in here to provide a backdrop for the pond and to leave the weeds no wiggle-room

Okay, I confess--as long as I'm sitting here and writing,I don't have to dead-head the roses.
