I HAVE A PLAN

We don't usually have much spring weather until mid- May so we are pretty thrilled with this current phase.

I took advantage of the mild weather by emptying out the shed and found the pruning shears I thought were lost and lost the leaf rake I knew was there so I guess it's about even.

The shed clean-out left me with a lot of work to do and it's still too early to actually plant something which would at least take care of that jumble of empty pots.

So-- I cast around for diverson and since I'm a grade A diversionist I leaned heavily on the generous good nature of my son the carpenter, who had enough to do without my nudging.

He came over and constructed a planter-barrier to block out the clothes line and compost-er.

Next, I'll plant sweet peas and morning glories and this panorama of color will send the eye around the tiny yard in an agreeable fashion.

And whole he was at it, my S.T.C. installed the new garden clock plus thermometer.

See the potential?

It's cloudy out there to day so I'll just stay inside and plan from the upstairs window

Yep, amazing potential.

going, going

See those insignificant blobs of grungy white? that's the last of the snow. God-help-us, we hope it's the last of the snow.

And while we're happy to see it melt away, it leaves behind old cigarette packages, bits of drywall, dog turd and other unmentionables.

On a brighter note, Frog has reappeared without her ermine coat and the bulbs are stepping smartly into place.

Did I mention I love spring?

OOPS

This is a sad commentary on my cleaning-up habits in the fall.
You put the garden away tidy, right?
Well, I did when I was thirty.
Now, not so much. Okay, now not at all.

Poor Buddha took a hit from a passing bird. I'm not sure whether it's respectful to place a sunhat on his head so I guess I'll go along with the thought that Buddha is gentle and forgiving.

Anyway, it's so mooshy out there that I can't do any serious tidying up of plant or deity, so I'll wait.
