the Pond survives
I climbedup the mini snowbank on the back deck to check out the pond.
Wuth the help of the zoom lens, everything looks good out there.
The pond fish are probably still tucked into their winter woolies but they can see the sun above them.
Mom Nature can toy with us but we know spring is in the air, along with a few snow particles.
We can wait. it's coming.

Now this is Promising
The snow is melting a micro drop at a time but we are hopeful
Under grow lights a flat of petunias are bursting out of the soil and suggesting a tad less water next time--and some thinning out if you please.
The dahlias and geraniums are beating their little chests and before long (okay maybe a while yet) they'll be outside. In the sunshine. Warm sunshine. Please god.
And while we wait for spring to well, spring, I can chat with Gwairn the dragon who is waiting it out with Easter ducky.

Enough Already
Okay now, we are through with winter around here. There are parts of the world where people are swatting tse tse flies or something and we can't find our driveways.
This is the side deck this morning.
I'm not planning to visit the shed out back anytime soon.
So why don't we all pack up and move to sunnier places? Because we have the bluest skies in the world and we are hardy folk. Or nuts. Take your pick.

Gee Whiz,Another storm
It's garbage day, the day we wrap ourselves into mummies and schlep the garbage to the curb, or wherever you think the curb might be.
I see that some intrepid souls did just that. I'll wait a bit, thank you.
See this is why I waited. it's three hours later and the storm has passed. Okay, so have the garbage men but there's always next week.
See that chain in the middle of the picture? I keep it there to remind me that in three months time it will be holding a lovely pot of something colorful and in bloom.
Next winter I'll plant more of these gorgeous tall grasses everywhere I can see them from the windows.
The deck is impassable and hiding under that snow are containers of compost, waiting for the next thaw so I can empty them.
Another time.
